Illustration “Friday”…HURRY!
This week’s illustration Friday topic is “Hurry!” In support of the topic, I decided to hold off and create an image later on in the week. 
To be honest, I spent a few days developing a concept, eventually landing on an idea I was happy with. From the beginning I wanted to use a snail as the focal point. But, creating a snail character that was charming turned out to be a somewhat difficult task. I had snails with glasses, racing stripes, excessively bright skin and all kinds of odd creations. But none of them satisfied my idea of what a snail should look like. I eventually back-stepped and simplified the character. The final image features the snail and what must be the smallest spider ever, considering his size compared to the snail. Nevertheless, here is the finished image. I’ve titled it “Impatient Hitchhiker.” I hope you all enjoy it and have a great week!

He IS charming. All the greens are really great, including the pale, pale grass. Great concept and title!
